Overview
From humble beginnings on the shop floor to becoming a world-renowned bookmaker, Betfred has been on a remarkable journey and we want you to be part of this fantastic innovative business. Established in Salford, Manchester, 1967... we started with a clear and simple vision: to provide the ultimate betting experience for our customers. Today we have evolved and pride ourselves in delivering unparalleled entertainment experiences worldwide.
Whilst a lot has changed over the years, we have always stayed true to our roots. Our story started in retail and while it remains the heart of our business, we have also embraced the digital landscape. With over 1300 shops we continue to play a vital role in local communities across the UK while expanding our presence online.
We’re looking for a proactive and strategic Campaign & Media Lead to drive the planning, development, and delivery of high-performing, insight-led marketing campaigns—while leading the media strategy that ensures our brand shows up powerfully across all channels.
This dual-focus role sits at the heart of our brand and commercial efforts. You’ll lead a team of campaign managers, oversee end-to-end campaign execution, and manage our media agency relationship to deliver standout work that engages audiences and supports commercial growth. With a new brand launching and a packed campaign calendar ahead, this role is critical to ensuring creative excellence and performance go hand in hand.
Responsibilities

- Own the campaign calendar, ensuring it’s tightly aligned with commercial priorities, product launches, and market opportunities.
- Oversee the development and rollout of campaign assets across all customer touchpoints, ensuring consistency, clarity, and impact.
- Work closely with internal creative, content, media, digital, and commercial teams to ensure cohesive delivery and message alignment.
- Manage and develop a team of four campaign managers, fostering a collaborative and performance-led culture.
Media Strategy & Execution
- Develop and lead the end-to-end paid media strategy—covering ATL and digital channels including TV, radio, social, programmatic, display, and press.
- Balance always-on activity with campaign bursts to drive visibility, awareness, and action across all stages of the funnel.
- Act as the day-to-day lead for our media agency, ensuring strategic alignment, strong delivery, and KPI ownership.
- Drive ongoing media optimisation through regular planning and performance meetings with agency partners.
- Create and manage media strategies that include investment splits, audience targeting, phasing, and risk mitigation.
- Regularly analyse and report on campaign and media performance, providing insight-led recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Explore and evaluate new media platforms, formats, and partnerships that push the brand forward.
- Track and report on campaign and media performance, providing actionable insights and senior-level recommendations.
Campaign Planning & Strategic Collaboration
- Serve as the primary media point of contact for campaign leads and wider marketing teams, ensuring strategic support across all campaign phases.
- Ensure campaign briefs are insight-led, strategically aligned and supported by clear media plans.
- Collaborate with agencies and other partners to identify influencer and sponsorship opportunities aligned to brand goals.
- Team & Agency Management
- Lead and mentor a small campaign team, creating a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Ensure all campaigns are delivered on time, on brand, and on budget.
- Coordinate internal and agency teams to maintain cohesive, joined-up execution across creative and media.
- Foster learning and growth within the team by encouraging innovation, development and knowledge sharing.
