With the support of the Head of Internal Communications, you will be instrumental in the delivery of the Internal Communication strategy for Betfred.
You will work collaboratively across all business functions to ensure that colleagues are informed, inspired and feel connected, through a series of engaging communications aligned across the business. From day-to-day communications to large-scale cultural initiatives, you will play a key part in bringing our brand's story to life across the entire organisation.
Though your primary focus is through our internal channels, you will also support the delivery of communication through our external corporate channels. As a brand ambassador you will proudly showcase our brand, shout about our initiatives and engage our colleagues and prospective candidates in how it feels to work at Betfred.
Responsibilities
Delivery
- Provide support to the Head of Internal Communications, in all aspects of the Communication Strategy.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of communication campaigns that support key organisational initiatives and projects, both internally and externally.
- Oversee and maintain communications on the company intranet, ensuring it is up-to-date and relevant to both our communications strategy and our colleagues.
- Act as a champion of company culture and values through creative communications such as newsletters, intranet updates, digital signage, and town halls, ensuring all colleagues, whether in offices or retail settings, have access to the latest updates and initiatives.
- Provide communications and logistics support with major business projects, events and updates, collaborating with the office support teams as required.
- Provide support to the colleague engagement events team, ensuring that communications are planned and executed effectively.
- Continually review and update internal communication channels, ensuring information is accessible, relevant, and up to date.
- Facilitate two-way communication, gathering feedback from employees at all locations to refine brand messaging and initiatives.
- Gather feedback on our communications and measure the effectiveness of campaigns to inform continuous improvement.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that communications are aligned, planned and executed in a consistent way.
- Work alongside design teams to ensure visual consistency across all brand-related materials.
Brand Culture Integration
- Serve as the conduit between the Brand and People teams to ensure seamless integration of branding strategies into the employee experience across all areas of the business
- Support the creation of internal campaigns, events, and initiatives designed to connect all colleagues with our brand, regardless of their location.
- Ensure that all internal communications and support materials—such as newsletters, presentations, training documents, and digital signage—are on-brand and accurately represent the brand identity, tone, and values.

Skills & Experience
What you’ll need to succeed:
Experience:
- Proven experience in developing and delivering internal communications content across a diverse colleague base, through a variety of channels and across multiple locations.
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools, such as intranets, email platforms, and collaboration software (e.g. Teams, SharePoint etc.).
- Good broad knowledge of digital channels with specific experience within social media, marketing and social media metrics.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a communications role would be advantageous.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent influencing skills
- A natural curiosity to find out the full detail
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in written communications, especially when reviewing and ensuring materials are aligned with brand identity, tone and purpose.
- A natural collaborator with experience working across departments to achieve shared goals, particularly in a hybrid or multi-location work structure.
- Passionate about brand culture and creating a seamless experience for all colleagues regardless of role or location.
- Empathetic and approachable, with a knack for building strong relationships with colleagues at all levels and locations.
- Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to execute plans flawlessly, even across different locations.
