Overview

We seek a dynamic and hands-on UK Procurement and ESG manager to actively support team management, development, and ESG initiatives. The role involves overseeing procurement operations, managing tenders for our retail estate and technology division and leading ESG efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong procurement and ESG principles background and a proven track record of delivering results and fostering team growth.

Responsibilities

Procurement


·      Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company`s business objectives.

·      Oversee the end-to-end procurement operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policy.

·      Monitor and analyse procurement performance and implement improvements where necessary.

·      Conduct market research and analyse industry trends to identify potential suppliers.

·      Manage the tendering process for our retail estate, including preparation, issuance, evaluation and contract award.

·      Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions

·      Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.

·      Manage supplier performance to ensure the highest levels of quality, services, and delivery.

·      Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including supplier performance, cost savings, and supply chain risk.

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost savings opportunities and process improvements.

·      Evaluate new supplier requests and conduct supplier due diligence.  

·      Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing activities.


ESG


·      Lead the development and implementation of the company`s ESG strategy, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

·      Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive ESG initiatives and achieve sustainability goals.

·      Monitor and report on ESG performance, identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement

· Promote a culture of sustainability and social responsibility within the organisation.

Skills & Experience

·      Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and ESG roles, preferably in the retail or gambling industry

·      Experience managing indirect procurement categories, such as IT, Marketing and Professional Services.

·      Strong negotiation skills and proven experience in managing tenders and contract negotiations.

·      Deep understanding of ESG principles and practices

·      Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

·      Strong leadership and team management abilities

·      Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

·      CIPS qualified (desirable)
