Betfred’s commitment to preventing sexual harassment in the workplace

At Betfred, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace for all colleagues. In line with the Worker Protection Act in the UK, we fully embrace our legal obligation to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment in our organisation.

We have always upheld a zero-tolerance policy toward sexual harassment and other forms of workplace misconduct. With the introduction of the Worker Protection Act, we are reinforcing our efforts to ensure that all colleagues are protected from sexual harassment.

As part of this commitment:

  • We are enhancing our training to ensure that every colleague understands what constitutes sexual harassment, how to report it, and the support available to them.
  • We are also ensuring our managers are sufficiently trained in recognising sexual harassment, dealing with complaints appropriately, and supporting colleagues.
  • We have robust, confidential reporting mechanisms that allow employees to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • Our management team is committed to taking immediate and appropriate action in response to any concerns raised.
  • We have a company policy on the prevention of sexual harassment, making it clear that we have a zero-tolerance approach, and how sexual harassment should be reported whether witnessed or experienced by fellow colleagues, or third parties. Colleagues breaching this policy will be subject to disciplinary action.
  • We will make it clear to our customers in our shops that we do not tolerate harassment of our colleagues and action will be taken where this is not adhered to.
  • Any of our suppliers or visitors to our premises will be clear on our commitment to the Worker Protection Act 2023 and our zero-tolerance stance to sexual harassment and will be clear on the consequences of not adhering to our procedures.

We will continue to review and strengthen our approach to workplace harassment to ensure that we meet the requirements of the Worker Protection Act.
